I'm thankful when I remember to go here Why? you may ask? Well I know where its located & even for the Apollo regulars, it is tucked into a corner of a nearly vacant plaza. However the chili, omelets & coneys are fantastic. Monday I was truly craving a super bowl No Bean Chili Cheese Ground Beef Onions I called ahead, and it was ready on the counter, complete & ready to go. $4.25 Perfect blend of chili-spices, plus I'm a huge fan of the consistency of the chili itself here Not too thick or a blob like some places Not too thin or watery , just perfect. Personally I think it is very close to the American & Lafayette style downtown. Plus I'm sure you've read the Detroit Locals who have moved to California love it too patch.com/michigan/shelb… Its located behind the speedway at Riverland & Van Dyke Friendly cook,staff, servers & owners. and is 100% CASH ONLY repeat CASH ONLY, in case you miss both signs on the door.

It has been a while since last time here (5-6years). So this time took my wife and daughter(23) and everybody loved it. While it was very slow, not many patrons, the service was darn good and attentive and the food wAs very good. I had the shish kabob sandwich and a coney. My wife a coney and my daughter had their version of National's Hanni sandwich and some chilli cheese fries. The girls loved the fries and I loved my chicken s/which the best. This place has been here forever and is well worth going to, no disappointed customers.

I tired this place and I am not a fan. The service was slow and the food was not that good. They do have good chilli that is all that is good.

I've been going here for years, they have the best authentic Coney Island style hot dogs and chile very comparable to Layfayette and American in Detroit.

I grew up in the area and always loved this coney island. In fact whenever I was sick it became a tradition that my dad would pick me up two with everything. Now as a 38 year old I have lived in Chicago for 16 years and miss this place a ton. In fact I am embarrassed to say one time I drove back just to eat here. Best coneys hands down!

One of my favorite Coney Islands in Michigan. Believe me when I say I have been to many. I enjoy an omelette, hash browns, toast and my bill is under $4! They also have the best mozzarella sticks and ranch. Always crispy and hot. The setting is quiet and relaxed. No rush and usually just a few people in there. Only cons to the place is that they are cash only and not open on sundays. Even if you have to stop at the atm and pull out some cash it will be worth it. All in all I highly recommend the place. I have never left this place hungry or unhappy. Important note: Cash Only! Believe me it's worth hitting the atm. This place is the cheapest coney anywhere.
